We met up with our former neighbors Michelle and David, who are living in Seattle for a couple of years. One of their daughters and I ham it up with Rachel the pig outside the Pike Place Market. |

Don loves his Japanese style hot dogs with bonito flakes, so it was a happy accident to find a stand just a block uphill from the market. |

Blackberries were everywhere on Bainbridge Island, just as they were at our next stop: Vancouver Island. |

We stayed at the amazing Bridge House at Point No Point Resort, on the south coast of Vancouver Island about 80 minutes west of Victoria. |

Just down a flight of stairs was the Point No Point beach house, and some amazing views. |

We traveled to Victoria and Sooke a few times during the week. This is the sunken garden at Butchart Gardens - quite an amazing effort to transform an old limestone quarry to this! |

How damp is it in the PNW? Well, we saw a lot of seriously moss-covered roofs! |
