| The first stop in our family tour of Jewish Vilnius was the only surviving synagogue - the Great Choral Synagogue. It wasn't our family's synagogue - it was the synagogue for the wealthy - but my bubbe remembered going here to hear famous cantors. | ![]() |

| To the right is about all you can see of the only remaining Jewish cemetery in Vilnius. There are gravestones on this hill, but it's rather overgrown - not surprising when you consider that there are few people left to take care of it. | ![]() |
